Harriett Tubman
Inspired by the Harriet Tubman product page
This educational poster honors Harriet Tubman—freedom strategist, abolitionist, and one of the most effective liberation operatives in American history. Born enslaved in Maryland, Tubman refused the world that was forced upon her. After escaping in 1849, she returned repeatedly—risking capture, torture, and death—to guide enslaved men, women, and children to freedom. Her precision, courage, and spiritual intuition shaped the Underground Railroad into a movement of collective liberation.
Tubman’s brilliance extended far beyond her early missions. During the Civil War, she served as a Union scout, nurse, and intelligence leader. She became the first woman in U.S. history to plan and lead an armed military expedition—the Combahee River Raid—which freed more than 700 enslaved people in a single night.
